God's Way or.... mine
Today is a very sunny day here in Indonesia, yet so far this is a very nice weather for those who want to go outside..... This is a great day, anyway! And this has been a blessing for me to notice that the flag counter indicates some new flags and I would say thanks for those visitors.
This thought came up to my consideration when yesterday, (Friday 15/05) I was really touched by the kindness of my lecturer, Ibu Dumaria. She teaches us Probability in the afternoon, in the midst of tiresome day. Yet, after she had to finish the class and looked upon us and notice we still had some confusions, she offered, "If you want to stay and learn or clarify something more, you could and for those who wanna leave, it is OK as well." This is may be seems simple, but I was really struck when I thought a little bit deeper. I realized that she must be very tired that day and yet she did something inspite of her tiredness and maybe that would required her to spend more times, energy and patience for the goodness of her beloved students. Eventually she did it. Simple action, but I think this is a great matter.
Why? Because she chose not to do something only for herself, but for others although this will harm herself. This is not about being 'good' or 'nice' but it is about the 'beauty' of love. Sometimes in my weakness and imperfectness, it seems more pleasurable to keep myself in the comfort zone! Just keep anything pleasurable and enjoyable. Seek refreshments and entertainments (exceedingly)! Instead of doing papers and homeworks, it seems much more preferable to read the news or to be behind the internet screen. Sometimes, this beauty of love not necessary always in big things. This is so real: in the way we look to the waitress, in our silence, and in our way of closing the door, in listening, in speaking and in our small sacrifices to others.
But, is that always comes from our own strength? Our own goodness? Let's always remember that every good things, including those little good deeds in us comes from The Lord God. And I love this saying from my great friend so much: All you have to do is follow closely behind Him, and you will begin to change into His image, as you do what you see Him doing. It is the easiest thing in the world to do. Knowing our insufficiency, we say unceasingly, "Lord Jesus Christ, The Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner!"
Only in obeying Him and desiring His will in each day and every single moment in our life, then we will not only 'looks good' and nice..... but more than that! We will be transformed into His image. We do what we are doing in gladness and joy, as we do to the Lord and not to [please or to awe] men! Thus, it is great wisdom to choose to follow His Way: this is the best thing ever! Even it seems not the way we want... nor the 'pleasure' we want instantly taste! But, indeed this is the joy above joys --to be with the Master!
Glory to Thee O God! Glory to Thee!
Lord Jesus Christ, The Son of God, have mercy on me!

Yudhie, I see that you are learning the real lessons of life very quickly from the Lord our only Teacher: "Nor are you to be called 'teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ." (Matt 23:10 NIV), and for this I praise God with you, saying, Glory to You, O God, glory to You!

ReplyDeleteGlory to God!
ReplyDeleteThanks Romanos. It is very difficult to not like and not be respectful to someone who really listen to us and value our (in this case, my unworthy-) thought!
Thanks for your kind comment and God bless you, dearest friend!
